I ate here 3 nights in a row as i enjoyed the food so much!. I had green curry, a special lao dish with fish where you wrap the fish with a sauce in lettuce leaves, and a beautiful steamed fish on the last night. I never paid more than $9 including beer and coffee. It is a simple place…but the food was fantastic!

“The Zuela Guesthouse is a wonderful place, full of charm and ambience. The owners and staff are extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are spacious and clean; bathrooms are extremely clean and there is plenty of hot water. There is a courtyard, terraces and balconies for spending time reading, getting together with people…. I have stayed here numerous times, for as long as two weeks at a time and it always feels like home. I highly recommend the Zuela.”
“We stayed two nights in this guesthouse. Family and relaxing atmosphere! The owner is very friendly and will assist you with any question you have. You can rent a bike/motorbike and there is a good restaurant next to the accommodation… I highly recommend this place when you are in Luang-Namtha.”
“So often you feel like the service is only being provided because you’re paying for it. And in cheaper places, you often get what you pay for! However, Zuela’s was just so different. The owner sat down with us to make sure we were okay and enjoying both his guesthouse and Luang Namtha. He offered us free coffees (freshly ground, Guatemalan beans) because he was training his staff and didn’t feel he could charge for it yet…The overall feeling was being at place that genuinely cared I enjoyed my stay…”
“I have stopped at this guesthouse twice now – the first time in December 2011 and then again in December 2012 – and I have been meaning to write a review ever since. We arrived the first time round very late at night and despite their booking system messing up they managed to fit us in and feed us! The rooms are spacious and have fabulous wood floors. The family are very friendly and accommodating. It was a pleasure to go back and see them again in 2012. My only disappointment is that we did not get to see Gek our wonderful tour guide from the year before. We had an unforgettable day out with him rafting down the river. The location is excellent too – just across the road from the night market – where you can purchase all sorts of tasty insect treats to eat …mmm yum.. Keep doing what your doing Zuela!”
