Trekking

NatureLife offers a variety of unique cultural experiences with local minority ethnic groups. Along the way, our guides explain about medicinal plants, traditional forest use and agricultural practices and point out wild animal tracks. Eat (and cook) in a forest or village. Get a feel for local life. Experience breathtaking panoramic views.

Trek and Tour Options:

NatureLife has numerous treks and tours including hike, motor bike, bicycle, kayak and tuk tuk or combinations of these.

All adventures leave between 6:00 and 9:30am daily and must be booked in advance.

What to Bring:

All treks include:

  • Meals* and water
  • English speaking guides
  • Sleeping Bags (for overnight stays)
  • NamHa National Protected Area entrance fees and government taxes, travel permits etc.
  • Transport

We recommend bringing the following on your adventures:

  • Camera
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat and/or bandanna
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Sturdy clothes and shoes that can get wet and/or muddy
  • Kip to buy local handcrafts, drinks and/or presents

If kayaking and waterfall treks, we recommend you also bring:

  • Change of clothing
  • Towel
  • Swimming clothes

If staying overnight, consider:

  • Torch
  • Warm clothes for sleeping
  • Book and pencil for taking notes

 

Booking a NatureLife Trek:

Prices vary according to duration of stay and group size. See links above for more detail.

Treks and tours must be booked a day in advance. This can be done on arrival to Luang NamTha with Zuela Guesthouse and Restaurant staff.

Alternately, you can talk to the owner of NatureLife Eco-Tour, Mr Lat, in person at either of NatureLife’s two shop fronts:

  • One on the main street (across from the night market)
  • One next to Zuela Guesthouse and Restaurant.
